Personality:
- Mysterious: A great deal of Mikumo's life is shrouded in mystery—where she lives, her family, her life before she joined Walküre. It's even a mystery to her, honestly. She is called the Mysterious Venus by fans of Walküre because of her beautiful face and voice and lack of knowable history. Her tag line is "Music is mystery", playing on the fact that she just appeared out of nowhere to join the group. Reina even commented on about her having high connections since she didn't have to audition like the other girls.
It turns out her "mystery" is because she's the clone of a 500,000 year old dead Windermerean/Protoculture pristess called the Star Singer who has the ability to affect the minds of all humanoids with the power of her voice. She has a very strict diet and is only three years old at the time of the war with the Windermereans.
- Standoffish/Aloof: Because so much is unknown about Mikumo, it's a little hard for her to bond completely with the other members of the group and the Delta squad. She habitually goes off on missions alone, even going so far as to ditch Mirage who is supposed to be her escort because she can't work with her. Although when the secret of her "birth" is exposed, a weight seems to lift off of Mikumo and she stays with her group as much as possible, even sharing her first meal with Reina and Makina and enduring some of their teasing fairly well.
- Passionate/Serious: The one thing that compels Mikumo is singing. She gives it her all and it actually appears to be one of the few times that she's happy is when she's on stage. She has stated that she lives to sing and she means that with every fibre of her being. In that vein, she won't accept anyone giving less 100% and that is a source of conflict with Freyja for a while. She might like the other girl, but she won't let her drag the rest of the group down with self-doubt. She even goes so far as to literally slap Freyja out of her funk and get her to support the Delta squad and help the people of the Globular System.
- Curious: When Mikumo wanders off by herself it's never without a purpose. She's always trying to learn what she can to help the rest of the group and Xaos. When the ruins of Voldor resonate with her singing, she starts to figure out why and uses her trademark disappearance to get them to do it again. She also isn't afraid to ask questions of the others that get them to think and push them forward. However, she really does want to know the answers despite what it might appear to outsiders.
Abilities: - Singing: As the lead vocalist of Walküre, Mikumo is a gifted singer and dancer. Also, this means that she has a great number of fold receptors which grant her immunity from a serious disease in her world called the Var (think space rabies) and mind control. Not only that, but it can help cure those in the grips of the Var.
- Fighting: Mikumo is shown to have some skill with weapons and hand-to-hand combat.
- Espionage: She has the ability to use disguises to blend in with crowds and uses cicada-sized transmitters that can sometimes be hidden in her nails to communicate with Delta squad members and Walküre
- Star Singer: As the clone of the original Star Singer (a Windermerean priestess), Mikumo has the ability to have her voice amplified by the various Protoculture ruins through out the star system and to trigger humanoids to begin to emit delta waves (putting them into comas physically) and linking their consciousnesses in a sort of hivemind situation. However, she must be "controlled" by a Windermerean Wind Singer or their agent with the name of the original Star Singer. Her voice is so powerful that she can cut through Heinz's powers as the Wind Singer and overwhelm him and most of the Windermerean pilots as well to a lesser extent.
